Team Liquid Brazil have kept the crowd's hopes alive with its lower bracket run so far.

BBL Queens joined KRÜ Blaze as they became the second team to leave the VCT Game Changers Championship after their 2-0 loss against the hometown favourites, Team Liquid Brazil. Despite its first series loss to start the tournament, Liquid have been in decent form since then as this was the second team they have sent home with the first being Evil Geniuses GC.

And it will work well in the team's run to the grand finals as they will face-off against Team SMG In the lower bracket semifinal. Liquid also managed to secure themselves a top-four finish in hopes of doing one better than last year's third-place finish. And the series between BBL and Liquid proved to be one of the most entertaining for the Brazilian audience so far.

Liquid repaid the live audience's faith with a quick four-round streak to start the first match on Ascent. Paula “bstrdd” Naguil was exceptional as she secured three 3Ks in the first four rounds alongside Letícia “Joojina” Paiva, who also got a 3K of her own in the third round. From there, Liquid would end up trading wins with BBL who took five of the 12 rounds in the first-half. They would even start the second-half on the front foot with two straight wins to tie up the score 7-7.

Both teams would trade the next two rounds to make it 8-8 but from there on, it was all Liquid as they rallied to a five-round win streak to secure the first map. And during that five-round streak, Isabeli “isaa” Esser managed to clutch up a 1v1 scenario on two separate occasions to give Liquid the advantage.

BBL weren't deterred by that first game loss as they brought the same game plan to the second match, which included a 3K from Aleyna “Vania” Keskin as well as a 4K from Nur “eva” Çakır in the seventh and ninth rounds respectively. But this still wasn't enough as BBL won just five of the 12 first-half rounds as both Joojina and Vitoria “bizerra” Vieira were crucial in Liquid's seven-round wins. This included a pistol round 1v2 clutch, a 4K in the fifth round, as well as another 1v2 clutch that turned into a 3K in the final round for Joojina.

With a slim 7-5 lead, BBL came back swinging with a quick two-round win to tie the score. Liquid would end up taking the next two out of seven rounds as BBL jumped to a 12-9 match-point advantage. Unfortunately for the Turkish squad, they could not close out the second map as Liquid rallied to win the last three rounds in a row to force overtime. And even though BBL took the first round in overtime, Liquid once again managed to come back and take the next three rounds on the trot to win the series.

Liquid will now have the chance to play two straight series if they manage to defeat Team SMG Female in the lower bracket semifinal to set a rematch against G2 Gozen.
