Umamusume to release three new trainees in August, including fan-favourite Aston Machan

The month of August will see three new trainees added to Umamusume's global version, namely Yukino Bijin, Seeking the Pearl, and Aston Machan.

Yukino Bijin

Banner duration: 6AM 6 August - 5:59AM 14 August SGT

Yukino Bijin will be the first new trainee available in August. She specialises as a Pace Chaser for Mile and Medium-length races on Turf, though she can also be easily flexed into becoming a Dirt runner thanks to her B Aptitude for that surface. She has stat growth bonuses for Speed (10%) and Guts (20%).

Yukino Bijin's unique skill increases her velocity when she's leading or positioned towards the front close to the lead runner with 300 meters or less remaining in the race.

Yukino Bijin also has innate access to ‘Nimble Navigator’ and its upgraded version 'No Stopping Me!', one of the most powerful late-race acceleration skills in the game. Her other innate skills include ‘Snowy Days’, ‘Medium Straightaways’, ‘Pace Chaser Corners’, as well as ‘Straight Descent’ and its upgraded version ‘Determined Descent’.

She can also learn ‘Winter Runner’, ‘Downhill Speedster’, ‘Corner Acceleration’, ‘Head-On’, ‘Morioka Racecourse’, and ‘Full Tilt’ from her trainee events during a career.

Seeking the Pearl

Banner duration: 6AM 13 August - 5:59AM 22 August SGT

Up next is Seeking the Pearl, who can be run as both a Pace Chaser or a Late Surger in Sprint and Mile-length races on Turf. She can also be flexed into being an End Closer thanks to her B Aptitude for that running style. She has stat growth bonuses for Speed (10%) and Wit (20%).

Seeking the Pearl's unique skill increases her velocity when positioned 2nd or later when within 4 lengths of the lead with 200 meters remaining. If she is within 2 lengths of the lead when the skill's other conditions are met, her velocity will be greatly increased instead.

Seeking the Pearl's innate skills include two golds in ‘Shocking Flash’ and ‘Big-Sisterly’, which will help with passing other runners in Sprints and Mile races respectively. She can also innately learn ‘Firm Conditions’, ‘Sprint Straightaways’, ‘Unyielding Spirit’, ‘Light as a Feather’, and ‘Head-On’. She can also learn ‘Uma Stan’ from a trainee event during a career.

Aston Machan

Banner duration: 6AM 26 August - 5:59AM 2 September SGT

Finally, we have the fan-favourite Aston Machan, who you should always remember. Aston Machan can be as both a Front Runner or Pace Chaser for Sprint-length races on Turf, though she can also be extended to Mile races thanks to her B Aptitude for that distance. Aston Machan has stat growth bonuses for Speed (10%) and Guts (10%).

Aston Machan's unique skill increases her ability to break out of the pack with a strong desire to linger in fans' hearts when pressured toward the front with 400m or less remaining. Please keep Aston Machan in your heart.

While Aston Machan has an A Aptitude as a Pace Chaser, her innate skills lean more towards making her a Front Runner instead thanks to her innate access to two of the most powerful Front Runner skills in ‘Taking the Lead’ and ‘Groundwork’. She can also innately learn ‘Wet Conditions’, ‘Sprint Corners’, as well as ‘Light as a Feather’ and its upgraded version ‘In Hight Spirits’. In addition, Aston Machan can learn ‘Front Runner Savvy’, ‘Shifting Gears’, and ‘Productive Plan’ from her trainee events during a career.

Always remember Aston Machan. Don't ever forget about Aston Machan.

New Halloween versions for Agnes Digital and Meisho Doto

The new Halloween-themed alternate versions for Agnes Digital and Meisho Doto will be released alongside the ‘Days Flying By’ Story Event, with their banners and the event itself running from 6AM 19 August to 5:59AM 31 August SGT.

Halloween Agnes Digital

Just like her base version, Halloween Agnes Digital can be run as both a Pace Chaser and Late Surger for Mile and Medium-length races on both Turf and Dirt surfaces. She can also be flexed to run as an End Closer thanks to her B Aptitude for that running style. Halloween Agnes Digital has stat growth bonuses for Speed (7%), Stamina (7%), Power (8%), and Guts (8%).

Halloween Agnes Digital's unique skill increases her velocity when positioned midpack or further back on a mid-race corner and when there are at least 3 beautiful radiant Umamusume nearby.

Halloween Agnes Digital's lineup of innate skills lean towards her ability as a Late Surger in Dirt races, as she has access to ‘Ramp Up’ and its upgraded version ‘It's On!' as well as ‘Comeback’ and its upgraded version ‘Can’t Keep Me Down'. She can also innately learn ‘Updrafters’, ‘Uma Stan’, and ‘Forward March!’.

In addition, Halloween Agnes Digital's trainee events grant skill hints for ‘Top Pick’, ‘Acceleration’, ‘Homestretch Haste’, ‘Kyoto Racecourse’, ‘Mile Corners’, ‘Down in the Dirt’, ‘Mile Straightaways’, ‘Updrafters’, ‘Unyielding Spirit’, ‘Morioka Racecourse’, and ‘Rapid Gain’.

Halloween Meisho Doto

Just like her base version, Halloween Meisho Doto specialises as a Pace Chaser for Medium and Long races on Turf, though she can be easily flexed into becoming a Late Surger thanks to her B Aptitude for that running style.

Halloween Meisho Doto's unique skill increases her velocity and very slightly intimidates up to 2 runners ahead and up to 2 runners behind when positioned toward the front upon entering the final straight. She also has innate access to two powerful skills in ‘Neck and Neck’ and ‘Swinging Maestro’, with the former giving her crucial late race acceleration while the latter ensures she has enough stamina for the long races has to run in.

Halloween Meisho Doto's other innate skills include ‘Medium Straightaways’, ‘On the Attack’, and ‘Right Handed’. She can also learn ‘Tactical Tweak’, ‘All I’ve Got', ‘Medium Corners’, ‘Prepared to Pass’, and ‘Up-Tempo’ from trainee events during a career.

Five new Support Cards and reruns for existing high-value cards

The month of August will see five new Support Cards, notably featuring the first in-game appearances of Daiichi Ruby and K.S. Miracle as Support Cards ahead of their future additions as trainees. Shinko Windy, Daitaku Helios, and Mejiro Palmer will also get new Support Cards this month. In addition, high-value Support Cards featuring Silence Suzuka, Smart Falcon, Fine Motion, and Maruzensky will also get reruns.

SSR Silence Suzuka (Speed) and SSR Smart Falcon (Power) reruns

Banner duration: 6AM 6 August - 5:59AM 14 August SGT

Running alongside the Yukino Bijin trainee banner will be a rerun banner for the SSR Silence Suzuka (Speed) and SSR Smart Falcon (Power) Support Cards. Both Support Cards will be especially valuable for Front Runner trainees.

The SSR Silence Suzuka (Speed) card grants access to the Front Runner-specific gold skill ‘Unrestrained’, which increase a runner's ability to keep the lead on the final corner. Meanwhile, the SSR Smart Falcon (Power) card can grant access to either ‘Prudent Positioning’ or ‘Center Stage’ depending on RNG in its final chain event. However, the most valuable aspect of the Smart Falcon card is that it can grant the powerful ‘Groundwork’ skill from one of its events if your trainee doesn't have access to it innately or through legacies.

SSR Daiichi Ruby (Power) and SR K.S. Miracle (Guts)

Banner duration: 6AM 13 August - 5:59AM 22 August SGT

Running alongside the Seeking the Pearl trainee banner is the debut banner for the SSR Daiichi Ruby (Power) and SR K.S. Miracle (Guts) Support Cards. Given that both Daiichi Ruby and K.S. Miracle are Sprinters, both cards grant skills for that distance.

The SSR Daiichi Ruby (Power) card grants access to the Sprint/Mile-specific gold skill ‘Flash Forward’, increases a runner's acceleration when trying to pass another runner from the back late-race. This card also grants hints for plenty of debuffing skills. Meanwhile, the SR K.S. Miracle (Guts) card functions more as a stat stick as it doesn't grant a skill hint upon completing its chain events. With that said, it does give skill hints for skills oriented towards Pace Chasers through random events.

SSR Shinko Windy (Guts), SSR Daitaku Helios (Speed), and SSR Mejiro Palmer (Stamina)

Banner duration: 6AM 19 August - 5:59AM 31 August SGT

The SSR Shinko Windy (Guts), SSR Daitaku Helios (Speed), and SSR Mejiro Palmer (Stamina) will become available as part of the aforementioned ‘Days Flying By’ Story Event. The SSR Daitaku Helios (Speed) and SSR Mejiro Palmer (Stamina) can be acquired through the gacha while the SSR Shinko Windy (Guts) can be acquired for free by simply playing through the event.

The SSR Shinko Windy (Guts) will give skills oriented towards Dirt races, notably granting access to the Dirt-specific gold passive skill ‘Maestro of the Mud’, which increases a runner's performance on soft and heavy ground, increasing Speed and Power.

Meanwhile, the SSR Daitaku Helios (Speed) card grants access to Mile and Front Runner-oriented skills, with its final chain event either giving 1 or 3 hint levels for the gold skill ‘Perfect Spot!’ that increases a runner's speed when following directly behind another runner. The SSR Mejiro Palmer (Stamina) is also oriented towards Front Runners, giving access to the Front Runner-specific gold skill ‘Taking the Lead’ which increases a runner's ability to go to the front early-race.

SSR Fine Motion (Wit) and SSR Maruzensky (Speed) reruns

Banner duration: 6AM 26 August - 5:59AM 2 September SGT

The rerun banner for the SSR Fine Motion (Wit) and SSR Maruzensky (Speed) Support Cards will run alongside Aston Machan's trainee banner. These are two of the most powerful cards in the game right now, with the SSR Fine Motion (Wit) card currently being the best Wit stat stick in the game while the SSR Maruzensky (Speed) card is the go-to Speed card for Front Runners.

The SSR Fine Motion (Wit) card is a great generalist pick due to the sheer amount of Wit it can grant your trainee during Friendship Training. It also has the chance to grant access to the Pace Chaser-specific gold skill ‘Speed Star’–though, speaking from experience, you're more likely to get ‘Prepared to Pass’ instead. With that said, the card also grants high-value skill hints for ‘Straightaway Acceleration’, ‘Nimble Navigator’, and ‘Corner Adept’.

New Legend Races and two Champions Meetings

Finally, the month of August will see two Champions Meetings and a new set of Legend Races. First up is the Champions Meeting: Virgo Cup, which will run from 6AM 6 August to 5:59AM 15 August SGT. The Virgo Cup will be a 2,000 meter Medium-length Dirt race run on the right-hand track of the Oi Racecourse.
