With sixteen Protoss and thirteen Zerg players, Code S was bound to be PvZ heavy but having at least one Protoss versus Zerg in every single group is a new benchmark.

February 5th is set as the date when arguably the most prestigious of the three WCS circuits shall begin. Thirty two players will enter the frey for the $150,000 and the 10,500 WCS points to crown the winner two months later on April 5th.

The first GSL season for 2014 is shaping up to one with record-low number of Terran players. Only two made it through Challenger League and only one was seeded from the past season (Jjakji was also seeded but decided to change regions to Europe) and so the entire Terran presence in the upcoming Code S will consist of Maru, Bbyong and Supernova.

As a result, PvZ will be the theme of the tournament as every single Ro32 group will feature at least one such match-up. The round in question will start on February 5th and run till February 28th, promoting half of the players to the next group stage.
