Flash, Fantasy, Effort among the fallen in first week of Code A

It has not been a good week for the big KeSPA names as many couldn't find their way to Code S. The second half of the tournament returns January 22nd.
The opening day of Code A Season 1 went under the sign of Protoss domination. sOs and Classis triumphed in Group A over Gumiho and Shine while Ruin, along with StarTale's Zerg Curious ruled Group B and sent Sleep and Effort home.
Effort was the first KeSPA name to face elimination but he certainly wasn't the last. In the face of big expectations, KT's ace Flash disappointed on the second day and finished last in Group C, letting ex-eSF players YongHwa and Leenock move on.
The next groups continued the reaping of big KeSPA names (with preference to Terrans): Group E was the end of SKT's Fantasy while Group F eliminated Jin Air's Cure. By the end of week one, Bbyong remains the only Terran to have acquired Code S status.
The second part of the tournament will feature groups G-L, composed of high-profile names like Innovation, Life, Squirtle, DongRaeGu, Reality and Supernova.
Every eliminated player is out of the GSL altogether and will have to go through the Season 2 preliminaries if he's to return.
