Terminator goes mass air against Hydra
The last day of this week's Proleague broadcast decided to kick it up a notch and bring some capital ship action. Also featured: the crazy TvT chess game between TY and Reality.
Game one of the day was the long ZvP between JinAir's Terminator and CJ's Hydra which decided to step away from the standards for this match-up and go into capital ship craziness. Terminator had no intention of playing the tedious colossi vs swarm host tug-of-wars and not only upgraded its MSC to a proper Mothership but he did it twice while adding carriers to the mix and even upgrading them to make them more durable. All of Hydra's abducts and fungal growths could not stop the golden armada.
Maru stepped in as the second player for Jin Air and easily double the lead for his team. This allowed Rogue to waltz and close the 3-0 against CJ after a successful game against Trust.
Great players were to be found in the KT Rolster vs Samsung Galaxy match too, though only towards the end of it. Flash opened with a decisive victory against Emotion but the Samsung Zergs swung it around beating Stats and Zest in the following ZvPs.
It was in the fourth set between TY and Reality - the only TvT since the start of the tournament - that things got really exciting. After long minutes of Terran on Terran chess, Reality managed to clean TY's vikings and safely transition into Battlecruisers, knowing there's no way TY can re-build his air in time. What Reality didn't know was that TY had no intention going air whatsoever. Instead, Reality's Battlecruisers were treated to the fiery splash of TY's widow mines that melted the Samsung flotilla instantly.
Having lost the momentum and forced into an ace match, Samsung had to face the hard task of beating Flash which they could't carry out. Though Solar showed composure during Flash's banshee/hellion pressure he couldn't pull off a victory and KT got their second win for the round.
