The dates for the various WCS 2014 qualifiers have been set. The preliminaries for the new season begin as early as December 23rd.
Qualifier competition will start first in the Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau regional ran by TeSL. It will run from December 23rd and will end on January 2nd when all three slot winners to go into WCS America will be decided.
Apart from the Taiwan qualifier, four more will be held to feed players in WCS America. The North and Latin America qualifier (yielding 12 slots) will begin January 4th, the Chinese qualifier will run from December 26th to 29th, the Oceania qualifier is scheduled for January 11-12 and, lastly, the Ladder Wildcard tournament is on January 6th.
Where WCS America has a plethora of qualifiers over different regions, just a few will be ran for WCS Europe and GSL. Three instances of EU/Africa/Middle East preliminaries will be held for WCS EU on January 4th, 5th and 11th with the ladder wildcard following on January 12th. For GSL, there will be a single global qualifier to fill all 36 slots at once. Detailed breakdown of the schedule can be seen below.
