STX SouL are the new KeSPA Proleague champions after overataking regular season winners Woongjin Stars in six games. This is the first grand final and championship for the team.

STX SouL's spot in the Proleague grand finals came after a steady rise in results which started in round three of the regular season. At the end of the sixth and final round, the squad in blue led by team ace Innovation had finished third, right before Boxer's own SK Telecom T1 and with them they started their advancement to the end of the line.

A double 4-3 against SKT edged STX SouL forward, putting them against Flash's KT Rolster. Although arguably stronger than SK Telecom, KT Rolster were easier for STX to beat and after an aggregate 8-2 in two series, STX SouL made their first grand final ever matched against Woonjin Stars, the best performing team of the regular season.

With only one Bo7 series before the crowning of the champion, both teams had to put their best on the line. The match started with STX taking the lead after Mini outsted Bravo in game one. The lead was doubled on Whirlwind when teams' aces Innovation and Soulkey met in an explosive baneling-versus-bio warfare, ultimately decided by Innoation's trademark perfect mechanics.

Despite the early blows, Woonjin were able to swiftly come back into the series on the back of Protoss duo sOs and Free who made short work of Dear and Hyvaa. Though having lost their momentum, STX Soul still had more cards to play and they summoned a Protoss hit squad of their own. Go-to duo Trap and Classic was lined up in games five and six and with the death of ZerO and Flying, the series came to its end. A victorious end for STX SouL who were given the 2012-2013 Proleague crown as well as the lion's share of $279,000.
