Champions' heads fall after first half of up/down matches

Life's drop down to Challenger League is arguably the biggest surprise of this week's up/down matches.

The relegation games for the third season of WCS Korea premier league pinned not one or two big names down in the challenger division and notable champions like Life, Leenock and Life will spend the third installment of the tournament in the lower echelons.
More WCS Korea coverage Check link for VODs, news and match info ?The up/down segment of WCS Korea started this Tuesday and surprising results immediately followed as CJ Entus Zerg and relatively unknown name SonGDuri flawlessly swept Group A under the noses of established played like IEM World Champion YoDa and Woongjin Stars-trained Flying.
Even more shocking was Life's robbing of Season 3 premier spot on Tuesday. Fighting with fluctuating results since the start of the year, Life made a Ro32 exit in Korea S2 after losing to Fantasy and Kangho. The StarTale ace then failed to make an immediate return from the challenger league bracket stage after losing to Hyvaa in three games and as a result found himself in the last chance up/down matches.
By Tuesday afternoon, those would mark the end of Life's hopes for a return to Premier league. The multiple tournament champion fell victim to the KeSPA domination in the face of CJ's herO and SKT's soO who took the top two spots and dropped down to challenger along with fellow eSF colleagues ByuN of team Prime and Bang of MVP.
The up/down matches kept reaping champion souls and today FXO's Zerg ace Leenock ended on the bottom of Group C, having one just one match. Leenock shares a similar path to challenger as Life, dropping out from premier in the Ro32, losing in the last round of challenger bracket stage and then failing to beat the up/down challenge. Leenock is joined in his fall by Protoss duo Ruin and Avenge, while another underdog in Pigbaby and MVP's KeeN rule the day.
