EG-TL continued their slalom between wins and losses and shocked down Boxer's SKT in the last day of the fifth round by channeling Oz, Jaedong and JYP.

EG-TL played strong in the PvP battles so characteristic of this Proleague season and secured a 2-0 lead on the back of EG's Oz, who took out Brown and Rain for a strong opening. It took reigning world champion Parting to stop Oz's hot streak but was in turn ended by BroodWar legend Jaedong so that EG-TL can maintain their two-map lead.

Down to their final man, SKT summoned Terran ace Fantasy and almost tasted a comeback as they equaled the score to 3-3 after two dominating TvZs against Jaedong and Zenio. With their usual ace abroad for the WCS NA finals, EG-TL had to call out JYP as their last resort. While being notoriously week in the match-up in Wings of Liberty, JYP has been showing drastic improvement since the release of HotS and stormed the match to rip Fantasy apart and close the series 4-3, giving his team the hard-fought victory.

Despite the outstanding performance of one TY throughout the entire round, Team 8 decided to not put the Terran talent out early and that led to them flying into a 2-3 disadvantage, delivered to them by the STX Protoss trio of Trap, Dear and Classic.

It was only during that do-or-die moment that TY was called out but it was already too late as he couldn't overcome Classic and let STX walk out victorious.

At the end of round five, Woongjin Stars are the only team to be certain of their playoffs spot. The last seven games are to determine Woongjin's final positioning in the top four but if the Stars continue to showcase the same top performance as until now and they don't waste their four-win lead ahead of KT Rolster, they are looking for a highest finish.

In the middle of the table, the battle will be mostly between KT Rolster, SK Telecom, STX Soul and Samsung KHAN. KT are currently in the best position among those four but SKT are dangerously close and so are STX Soul. KHAN are at 17 wins so their struggle to take and maintain a top four position will be harder, but not impossible.

On the bottom of the table, we have CJ Entus as 6th with 15 wins and 20 losses and they will need a truly outstanding winning streak to break the top four barrier. Same goes for Team 8 and EG-TL (currently 7th and 8th with 13-22 each), although their chances for playoffs are slim to none.
