Red City, Korhal Sky Island and Newkirk Precicnt will be added to next season's ladder map pool, edging out Klontas Mire and Zerus Prime.
According to Blizzard, the company's goal is to align the map pool of the SC2 ladder with the one of the World Championship Series so that pros and non-pros alike can enjoy the same experience. Thus, the ladder-exclusive Klontas Mire and Zerus Prime will be removed, allowing for three more maps to come in.
Those are Red City, Korhal Sky Island and Newkirk Precinct, which are nothing new to the eSports enthusiasts. Red City and Korlah Sky Island (a.k.a Korhal Floating Island) debuted in Korea's team leagues GSTL and Proleague respectively, while Newkirk Precinct have long been among the most popular macro maps in the tournament map pools.
The maps will be available for ladder play with the start of the new season on June 10th.
