According to a recent tweet by tournament organiser Genna Bain, SHOUTcraft America might remain a one time thing only, as "?a lot of the feedback will likely prevent a series".
SHOUTcraft America, announced this April, sprung as a project of Genna "Intricacy" Bain and John "TotalBiscuit" Bain whose goal was to promote a growth in the North American scene - a region which has long been dominated by non-American players, the currently ongoing WCS America being one of the examples. The tournament further wanted to answer questions like "Is American competition exciting?" and "Will people watch it?"
The sixteen best players from the NA Grandmaster were invited for a round of double elimination group stage into single elimination bracket. At the end of the 10-day long competition, one Sam "Kane" Morissette emerged champion and took the $4,000 first place prize.
Despite the good quality of games, however, SHOUTcraft struggled with underwhelming viewership numbers was the receiving end of some negative feedback. Issues like the technical difficulties, scheduling times and conflicts with WCS circuit, the lack of well-known faces and hence the lack of stories as well as the whole thing feeling like "rushed" were mentioned, essentially leading up to Genna Bain's tweet in question.
While I appreciate everyone's initial support for my concept of #SHOUTcraft America, a lot of the feedback will likely prevent a series.
