PGL Season 4: Day 3 – Nony eliminated, White-Ra advances.
Usually when New Years rolls around, everyone’s freezing their butts off. But don’t worry we got something to warm your hands with. PGL is a little stale, but still hot out of the oven. In the beginning there were 16 players, now there are only 14 left and 2 more will be eliminated tomorrow.
The first day of PGL kicked off with the four groups battling each other for the winner’s bracket. Vulture from Group D devastated Group C by beating three of their players before being put down by Fengzi who in turn was defeated by the Korean nbs.
NonY makes his first appearance since going to Korea, as the starter for Group A. He goes up against Ukraine’s powerhouse Strelok from Group B. NonY was able to beat him before Super took over the reigns and beat him and LeiLei before White-Ra, another Ukrainian powerhouse, took back control for Groub A. The Korean Puma stepped up and beat White-Ra before fighting against his fellow Korean kkong. Puma won and Group B advanced to the winner’s bracket along with the Group D.
Day two was a good day for Group D as they beat out Group B in a 4-1 victory. Vulture again showed his talent taking out Strelok and Super while the Korean nbs took care of the leftovers.
In the loser’s bracket, NonY managed to grab a win vs. the Korean Orion but it came down to a 3-3 tie with White-Ra and Eva deciding who would face Group B for a chance at avoiding the loser’s group which would get two of their players eliminated. White-Ra won and Group A went on for a rematch against Group B.
The rematch saw NonY and Strelok facing off again only this time, Strelok won. White-Ra took out his fellow Ukrainian before the Korean Puma went on a 3-0 streak beating White-Ra, LeiLei, and finally his fellow Korean kkong to claim victory for Group B.
Day 3 started off with each group's players vying for the chance to advance to the Ro8, or to simply survive. Group D was no surprise as nbs advanced to the Ro8 undefeated with an 8-0 overall score, and Legend beating Vulture in the last round to advance with him. Vulture and lbh went on to the loser’s bracket.
It was a different story for Group A as the top two advanced and the last were eliminated. NonY lost both of his matches automatically eliminating him, while White-Ra and LeiLei battled out in the end to see who would go home and who would advance with the Korean kkong. In the end, NonY and LeiLei were eliminated and White-Ra along with kkong advanced to the loser’s bracket.
Day 4 will bring Group B battling it out to see who will automatically advance to the Ro8 and who will have to go to the loser’s bracket, while Group C’s players will have to play much harder for the last two spots remaining in the loser’s bracket.
