After som initial trouble iCCup's new site is up and running, and so is season 7.
It was really really hyped up. For months. "This is the end. This is going to be the last month of iCCup." It turned out that what ended was the old website and a new one came to be. The iCCup team has changed the engine behind the site, and also reworked the entire design. The result is a much faster site, and a cleaner design. And more is promised to come. Note that the site is still in its beta stage and might still contain bugs and errors.
As we all should know by now, no deadline is ever on time. Whether it is in school, work, a state budget, a road construction, or in StarCraft: Brood War. There were issues getting both their private server online for playing and getting the site up and running. A lot of users were irritated and upset, and it was easy to notice that so were the admins.
However now the new season, season 7, is running again. The fastest players to climb the ladder has already in writing moment reached the rank of C+. There is a new map package including new maps like Yellow, a broodwarmaps.net user made map, Hunters by public request for the 2v2 players and updated versions of Medusa and Sword in the Moon.
ICCup is still supporting 1.15.3 only, since 1.16 has been deemed too buggy. So awaiting 1.16.1 you should not download the latest patch if you want to avoid having to repatch or fix with your Brood War to make iCCup work.
With the holiday approching we can expect a high activity on the iCCup server.
