In what is sure to be an exciting finals, Fantasy will face off against Lee Jae Dong himself.
It has been a long road getting here to the final match. Along the way, many players have achieved success in spectacular fashion like the incredibly young Leta, or by.hero who has been doing very well as of late. However, Fantasy and Jaedong have come out on top. These two players are sure to provide a splendid match, and both of them are practicing hard to do just that.
Almost no one could have predicted how well Fantasy would do throughout this League. After getting the silver in last year's OSL behind Stork, Fantasy was clearly driven to make his way back to top. His "desire to win the championship overflows", as he said in a recent interview.
It is clear he has a strong desire after having faced and defeated many of the top players in all three races. He faced Leta, the wonder child, and won handily. He met with Luxury, easily the second strongest Zerg in the world right now, and overcame him as well. Finally, he played his own SKT teammate, the Banjwa-like Bisu, and went against all predictions by defeating Bisu 3-0, ending Bisu's 11 game winning streak. It's been an amazing run for Fantasy, and tomorrow he tops it all off with a battle against the number one Zerg.
Known for his pre-game plans, many are wondering what Fantasy has up his sleeve for what may be the most important match in his career thus far. Having used mech builds very effectively against Zerg opponents, it will be interesting to see whether Fantasy sticks with this, or goes the, perhaps safer, bionic route. Regardless of the fact that he is characterized by his mechanic builds, Fantasy has been preparing in both branches and is hoping to use, "various methods [he hasn't] gotten the chance to use or shown yet", he said.
Jaedong has been dominating as of late. In the winners league he took his team to the finals with a 4-0 victory against KTF, defeated Bisu in the GomTV special match, ascended to the number one spot in the Kespa rating, and had relative success in the MSL. Now he's in the OSL finals again, facing off against Fantasy for his second OSL title.
Jaedong was a tad disappointed that he wasn't facing his rival, Bisu, in the finals, but in a recent interview said "I’m definitely not underestimating [Fantasy] as I prepare". Jaedong is getting some help from his own teammates, like Hiya, but also, "Estro’s Upmagic, OGN’s Leta, and STX’s Hwasin and Notice have been helping him," which hints at how nice Jaedong is as a person, that players are willing to give Jaedong free tips on how he can defeat them more easily.
It's sure to be another exciting OSL finals. Will the "legend killer", Jaedong, continue his dominance of the progaming scene? Or will Fantasy continue his streak of upsets and get his first OSL title? The answer will be revealed later tonight!
