After a 3-year hiatus, the Netherlands will send a player for StarCraft to the World Cyber Games in Cologne.
The Netherlands has had a long history in StarCraft, with NTT and Nazgul being two of the select few to ever go to Korea, and other outstanding players such as Twisted, Ret, and Strafe representing the dutch team at the World Cyber Games. WCG Grand Finals 2001

2001 was the most successful year for Dutch Starcraft. Despite two players being eliminated in the first round, it was the only round in which a dutch player would reach the semifinals. Nazgul would turn out to be present in every World Cyber Games for Starcraft to come.WCG Grand Finals 2002

This was the last year any StarCraft players would be sent out. TwisteD was most successful, making it to the round of 16 where he got eliminated by ZelotITO, which eliminated StrafE a round earlier.
After this year, there would be no Starcraft in any of the three years after it. Until now. There will be one ticket available for the Dutch Starcraft team, and possibly a second one if a wildcard is given by an independant eSports association. This, however, seems to be unlikely, but we can always hope.
