The games for the Nordic StarLeague Final Tournament played out on Saturday. Those determined to play stayed in, but at the end it was the controversial Swedish player HayprO who was victorious.
There were some troubles with players forfeiting, however the NSL managed to carry on, seeing some of the up-and-coming European players take a stab at victory. TiQ.Oystien was the Norwegian qualification winner, and also from Norway iG.Sky replaced player go12go9, who failed to appear. There were also some players from Finland who abandoned the event following the first round.
Representing Sweden was the player HayprO who had won the qualification, as well as Get.Shauni, who served as a replacement. These four players competed in the winners bracket, which HayprO won. iG.Sky fought his way through the Losers Bracket, but still went down to the Swedish player 3-1. HayprO used the Terran race against Sky's skillful Zerg.
Words from the champ
Following the win, HayprO got a chance to sit down with Heaven.ReV to talk about things. Naturally he was happy he won, but also very glad he was allowed to play. This of course comes after allegations of the Swede using the Oblivion hack. Confident, the former ToT player says he knew he would make it to the finals, through either bracket.
He also made a point of expressing his thankfulness towards everyone who has allowed him to play in leagues (specifically TeamLiquid StarLeague).
Congratulations to HayprO and iG.Sky for their performance and we hope to see more of the NSL very soon.
