It has been a while since the last update, but Jersey and iNfeRnaL are moving on from their groups. All the matches have been finished except the tie breakers. However, one of them is now finished and the American Zerg player Chosen moves on to the playoffs over Ptak and Crow.
The first match of the tie breaker in Group G stood between Chosen and the Croatian WCG winner Ptak. After a lot of problems trying to find a time to play the first game was finally created on the starting map Tau Cross. Three tight Zerg versus Zerg games later, Chosen walked out of the battle as the winner.
In the next match up was the Zerg player again, Chosen, against the Czech Terren player, Crow. Just like the last match, it took all three games to determine the winner. If Chosen wins this, the third tiebreaker between Crow and Ptak would not be needed. The American up-and-coming Zerg really seemed to to be top of his game. Chosen won the initial match and then lost in the second. He recovered and defeated Crow to finish second place in his group, and therefore moving on with SquaLL to the playoffs.
Chosen 2:1 Crow
Chosen1:0 Crow@ Tau Cross
Chosen1:1 Crow@ Blitz X
Chosen2:1 Crow@ Longinus
Group G wasn't the only group which needed a tiebreaker. The Russian Bruce will, due to the lack of interest and time to play at all, be forfeited in both his matches. Therefore, the winner between Strelok and Skew will advance as the winner of the group to the playoffs and the loser will get the second place. As soon as the group stage is over we will gather all the replays for you, so keep an eye on the site!
