Last week, the final rounds of the QCup were played, putting an end to the competition's first season group stages. This week, it's time for the midseason tournament, where Excello's Strelok beat the Templars' Mondragon in the finals.

QPad's QCup competition played out its midseason tournament last Wednesday. Competing teams were allowed to send in a number of competitors based on how many points they had scored up to the tenth of the regular QCup tours.

New Templar of Twilight HayprO played his very first tournament for the team, racking up a semifinalist position on his first go. It was his teammate Mondragon, however, who made it to the finals, where he met his defeat at the hands of Excello's own Strelok. Strelok takes home the 186€ prize pool.

In an interview with WGTour, Strelok noted that Kelsen, who he'd faced in the semifinals, was probably his most difficult opponent, putting a lot of pressure on him throughout the games. He considered the entire tournament to be skilled, however, forcing him to play at 100% at all times. Kelsen would defeat favorite White-Ra on his way up to the top.

Games played in the early bracket stages were best of one, bringing the defeat of Arew and eXeCuToR at the hands of the finalists. Moving to best of three in the quarters and semis, the QCup's own top three teams LRM, ToT and xLo would claim all the top four spots before Excello and the Templars butted heads in the final.

Midseason brackets can be found here. The QCup moves into the playoffs between Excello and Los Reyes next week.
