The WGTour Clan League starts in just a few days with Division 1, and everyone is anxiously waiting to see who will start off on top. The match ups have several familiar teams, as well as a couple new faces. Week one promises to be a great way to kick off the season, with the map of the week being Gaia.
LordWeird's predictions
1. [Light] vs. All For Zerg (afz)
Both teams come highly prepared for this match up, with a ton of very solid players to choose from to play. If you may recall All For Zerg joined up with fellow Russian team pAq earlier in the year to build their core team of Russian gamers. Despite all of this I simply do not see All For Zerg taking more than two games this time, regardless of how many games are played. [Light] takes the win fairly easy.
2. MicroGamerZ (MgZ) vs. Aeterna Societas Honoris (ash)
As most of you know already, MicroGamerZ has been been playing extremely well recently, placing second in ICCup's Division A, after demolishing All For Zerg. Ash, however, is practically nowhere to be seen. That being said, It's a no-brainer that I'm picking MicroGamerZ to get the win this week.
3. Face to Face (F2F) vs. Los Reyes del Mambo (LRM))
LRM has proven time and time again they are one of the teams to beat. They are currently ranked second on GG.net's very own clan rankings. F2F is indeed a very strong clan too, but in recent months they have been losing games they arguably should not have. This will be a very tight match up, with both teams having to give it their all, but LRM will prove dominant after all is said and done.
4. Team BW- (BW-) vs. Excello (xLo.)
Team BW earned their spot in this division, beating LatinGamers in a very tight game. This week the test of their skill comes in the form of a Portuguese team by the name of Excello, who have at one point in time beaten just about every team currently in the division. However, I am going to give this one to the underdog BW because they seem dead set in proving themselves in this clan league.
5. Lyra Gaming (Lyra) vs. Danger Destruction Death (3DClan)
We see another set of newcomers in the Russian team Lyra. This week they have revenge on their mind against 3DClan, whom they have gone 0:2 against this year. Lyra are huge underdogs in this match, and with good reason. They have not been playing very well recently, losing to many of the teams they will have to play in just a few weeks time. If Lyra can get it's best players on at the time of the match up, they might stand a chance. However to me it seems pretty set in stone that 3DClan will once again get the win, with little to no resistance.
