Due to player disagreement, the final round will no longer be held.
SpaceDominator, acting as tournament director, announced the sad news on Sunday and effectively called an end to the event in its 11th hour. He explains in an extended post that due to a disagreement between the finalists (Skew[Media] and TT1) that could not be resolved, he and the other organisers felt that they had no real choice but to pull the plug.
According to the post, Skew insisted on VOD's of each game and threatened to forfeit if this did not happen. The catch here is that VOD's are not required by the invitational rules which both players operate under. TT1, despite requests by the Blizzforums crew, chose not to comply, expecting to win by his opponents own forfeiture. This was extremely disappointing considering the buildup to the finals, and the BlizzForums Crew gave their own ultimatum: compromise or cancellation. Both players stuck to their guns, and the plug was pulled.
In a heartfelt apology to the followers of the event, SpaceDominator does a number of shoutouts to the community and especially those who helped make the tourney the success it has otherwise been. While obviously frustrated by the results of the finals, his overall feeling is positive and with the prizes still at large there may indeed be another tournament in the offering.
From the crew here at GosuGamers, I'd like to thank SpaceDominator and the Blizzforums Crew for all their hard work and kind words, and wish them the best for future endeavours.
