The season in Korea is well underway. The massive ProLeague with it's five play days a week is going strong. The second season of GomTV MSL has started and the OSL recently had it's group selection and is due to start on May 11th.

In the OSL group selection ceremony the top three seeds (Savior, Nada, Iris) pick one person each into their group, then they pick one player each into Casy's (seed four) group. The players who got picked into the top three seed groups then get to pick a player and so on. The Group selection ceremony was held on May 4th. Savior picked Upmagic into Casy's group, Nada picked GGPlay and IriS picked Stork. Stork was the only player Casy had requested that IriS did NOT put in his group. Here are the groups:

OnGameNet StarLeague
Group A Savior iloveoov Flash Light
Group B Nada Bisu Hwasin DarkElf
Group C Iris Reach Shark Justin
Group D Casy UpMagic GGPlay Stork

At this ceremony the maps were also announced, although no sponsor yet. The maps are HitchHiker, Python, Monty Hall and Dreams. HitchHiker is known from the OSL last season, while Python and Monty Hall should be known from the MSL and the ProLeague this season. Dreams is the new map, and what a map it is. A quick look reveals that the start positions are completely different. They are inspired by XenoSky, Ride of Valkyries, Nostalgia and Gaema Gowon. The balance here might be an issue, but the fun factor should be through the roof.

July and Pusan leaving MBC HERO?

In other news from Korea, MBC HERO has put July and Pusan on waivers. This basically means they are on the transfer list. At the contract renewals MBC proposed a paycut due to poor individual league performance, but the players did not accept this and requested a transfer. MBC HERO has a lot of great players that are coming up and don't really need any overpaid stars. Sea, Light, Shark and Bisu are all top notch players. Losing both July and Pusan will surely be a blow to their 2007 ProLeague campaign though.

There has been some speculation that SKT T1 are interested in July at least. This is based on SKT T1's excellent financial situation and the fact that GoRush is pretty much the only big zerg name they have.

If you've missed results or formats etc, the feature linked below is as usual fully updated. Including a map pack that has all the ProLeague, MSL and OSL maps.

*Pusan has agreed to a contract with MBC HERO. July is still on the transfer list.
