GGPlay's journey in winning a major title began in the spring of 2005. Recruited by the well-known Hanbit Stars (picture) Kim Jun-Young (GGPlay) was off on his pro-gaming career.
After such little time within the team, over two years he has participated in four starleagues, always able to get to RO16, but never past that line... until now. GGPlay showed 5 magnificent games against Iris[gm] (Byun Hyung-Tae) in the Daum OSL finals. Two brilliant players, five brilliant plays.
GGPlay showed his best throughout the series of 5, no doubt - but in the beginning, he was down 0-2. Of course, this did not stop him; apart from being down two and the fatal possibility of losing what he had worked so hard for, he regained his confidence and focused on the rest of the games.
GGPlay had said, "After game two, I thought that it was too hard, but I saw my father in the audience praying. I then regained my focus, and concentrated on the game to turn it around."
“"Don't worry, I will turn this around and win."
- GGPlayWhen GGPlay was asked about the words he would have said to his father before the start of game 3, he answered with confidence, "I would have said something along the lines of, 'Don't worry, I will turn this around and win.'" and lastly stated, "I want to thank all my fans who believed in me and supported me."
All in all, this was a very glorious and emotional victory for Kim Jun-Young.
