Among the invited countries there is one which does not necessarily belong to Scandinavia - the Netherlands. They were invited because they also do not have WCG anymore. The other ones are: Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
The format is quite simple. There will be four Open Tournaments for each country (SE bo3, bo5 in finals) and the best from the participants (either top2 or top4, depending on the number of players) will advance to the Champions Tournament. This is an equivalent to the offline finals, held in every participating country, at the real WCG. It will feature either 8 or 16 players from the qualifiers and will be played in DE bo3 format, with both LB and Grand Final played bo5, with top2 advancing to the Nordic Championships finals.
Once the qualifiers are done, Nordic Championships will be held. As there will be 10 players participating in this, they will be divided into two groups, five players in each. They will play bo3 in the round-robin format and top2 will advance to the final DE bo3 bracket, again with the bo5 Grand Final. Of course only WCG maps are allowed in all the tournaments.
All players from participating countries are invited to take part in this event. There are no specific dates given yet, but it is sure that Open Tournaments will be played on Saturdays and they will be announced a few days in advance, so that you could have time to sign-up and prepare. Remember that no cheating is allowed and the administrators will be using IP checks to make sure that you are from a participating country.
We are sure that the event will be pleasurable and we wish good luck to everyone.

Every person interested in WCG cannot understand why there are no SC:BW representatives for countries where there are a lot of great players. It has been almost three years for those countries and WGT has come up with an idea to organize an equivalent. Its name is Nordic Championships!
