The Soul Hunter, Shurikens, Tempests and Phase Cannons was some of the things Blizzard gave us a sneak peak on at the computer mass festival.

Blizzard was on spot at E3 2007 to show off their highly anticipated game StarCraft 2, though it seems (as expected) that they put the lid on most of the tasty information. BlizzCon will most likely be the place where they will release most of the information, such as the Terran and Zerg units. At E3, Blizzard focused once again on the Protoss race. Blizzard reveals a couple of new units and buildings, as well as a couple of new features.

The Soul Hunter - an anti-infantry unit

First off, Blizzard showed off the Soul Hunter, a tier 2 unit. The 'tier' term is more used in WarCraft 3, which means you have to upgrade your main structure in order to build it. Blizzard says that it works as an anti-infantry unit. They also give out that their weapons will be able to upgrade up to three times with each kill they do.

Shurikens will replace Interceptors

The Tempest is already known, said to be like the Carrier in the first game. Though instead of the Interceptors they instead have Shuriken units. A strong anti-ground shield has been added that will keep it well defended against ground attacks. It has also become easier to build the little flyers, simply with a right-click.

Phase Cannons with 'uproot'

Round-up
Units:
Soul Hunter (New)
Tempest (New)
Twilight Archon (New)
Buildings:
Phase Cannon (New)
Twilight Counsel (New)The Phase Cannon, similar to the Photon Cannon in StarCraft 1, is a defensive structure that can be 'uprooted' (like the Night Elf trees in WarCraft 3) and walk around and be placed anywhere there is a phase field active - either it's mobile or static. Another building was revealed as well, a construction building this time, called the Twilight Counsel. It will warp out Soul Hunters, the Immortal and the Stalkers.

Last but not least we say welcome back to the Protoss Archon. Called Twilight Archon, it can be made by two Templars, either High or Dark. Blizzard has yet to determine the abilities it will have.

The StarCraft 2 associate producer, Tony Hsu, was interviewed by IGN where he talks about the units shown in a previous video, along with confirming that the Terran Medics are still in the game.
