Midas playing against Legendary.
Sang-Wook "Midas" Jeon finished second in the Korean nationals. He thought the worst was over, as he thought "The skill and performance of foreign players is not like that of Korean players.". He also thought it would be a breeze to the finals, and said "I just came for the experience of the Grand Final." But he found it turned out quite differently, as he lost two games. "I found out here that the skills and performance of foreign players has improved a lot."
Before coming to Italy, he and the other Koreans had decided "to get all medals in Starcraft. So I thought that I maybe should be in second place so they would not beat each other in the round of sixteen. The problem with the foreign gamers is that their skill has improved. I think they are excellent. I tried to go for first, but the winner result was not what I expected." He then told GosuGamers, "Because of this 2006 WCG final, I cannot say Korean gamers are good and non-Korean gamers are bad.", which should be a hopeful message for the foreigners next year.
When asked about the chances foreigners have, he said "I think that if the popularity of Starcraft grows, then maybe next year the gold medalist will be a foreign player." The match for 3rd/4th place was not that hard according to Midas though, as he said "It was a very easy game, because I prepared a build strategy for this match, and it worked, so it was a very simple game."

Now that the winner of the WCG Starcraft final has been decided, we take a look at some of the players who participated. First up is Midas. He managed to finish third, behind the other two Koreans. He was seen as the 'least known' Korean out of these three, so we'll shine some light on him.
