Game 1
The match started off on the jungle map of Azalea. StYm (picture) warped in at 7, whilst Midas sent his scv to work on 5. Both players went normal builds, with midas going for a small marine/tank force after which he expanded, whilst StYm went 2 gate goon, followed up by more tech. Midas then attacked StYm with 6 marines, a vulture, and a tank.
StYm held it pretty well, killing almost everything with 4 dragoons. He lost the dragoons though, but when he tried to counter his dragoons fell hopelessly to the spider mines. As his templar tech completed, he started sending dark templars to Midas' main. This was however perfectly read by Midas as he put spider mines on the road to his main, killing the DT's wherever they go.
Midas was expanding in the meanwhile, and had now sent his scv to mine precious minerals. He started massing vultures, whereas StYm was still working on DT's. Midas proceeds to harass with vultures preventing StYm to move out, and he eventually had to type the two universally known letters for surrender.
Game 2
The second game took place on Gaia. StYm warped in at 12, whilst Midas erected his Command Center on 6. Both players went for economical builds, as StYm built his nexus after his first gateway, whilst Midas felt it was time after his first factory. StYm then proceeds to build a robotics facility followed up by a new gate. Midas then moves back and forth a bit with a small marine/tank force, and eventually moves back to his natural to siege up.
Midas appears very scared of cheese, turreting around his main and sieging tanks next to them. StYm then found out his probes weren't very willing to go to the expansion, as they got stuck behind a few gateways. Midas then sieges up in the center, and sneaks vultures around to the expansions of StYm.
"OH MY GOD! WHERE ARE THE DRAGOONS? WE NEED THEM NOW!" was tasteless feeling quite attached to the probes as they fell to the vultures. StYm quickly retreats his force to take care of the vultures, but the probes take heavy casualties. "Probe genocide."
Midas then decides he would like to have a force of about 30 tanks, 30 vultures, and a few gols to kill StYm, which happens. He unsieges and crushes StYm's force and chances to win the game. He then types GG, which means that Midas has won the match.
The match of StYm and Midas has been played a while ago, and we look back to how the match went for both players. Was it close, or was it a complete walkover?
