July proved his amazing ZvT skills once more, this time against Phoenix in the quarter finals.

The first game of this best of 3 series started on Paranoid Android where JulyZerg hatched at 1 and Phoenix started at 2 with his command center. Since Paranoid Android is a two player map I think Phoenix thought that it would be a nice idea to bunker rush. He built his 2 barracks' close to his ramp which turned out to be a bad idea. The rushing SCV just couldn't manage to complete the bunker and the upcoming forces defeated by a nicely microed group of lings and drones.

On the other hand July who started with a 12 hatch, after defending the bunker rush perfectly, attacked with a 12 zergling force and losing some of them on Phoenix's ramp he managed to sneak in and do a couple of kills. Whilst July's lurker tech completed and two lurkers headed to terran base where the ramp was almost unprotected. With the backup of zerglings and 2 lurkers he razed the barracks quite fast. With no units Phoenix had to type GG when he saw JulyZerg's army of mutalisks.

Second game on Gaia started on close positions, July at 12 and Phoenix at 2. Having spotted the Terran base July made a 12 hatch build and as if he hadn't enough in the first game phoenix tried another bunker rush. It turned out the same way as last time, with JulyZerg defeating the bunker rush. July teched to mutalisks once again.

Phoenix spotted the Spire and tried to build a couple of turrets to guard his expansion and his ramp. This did not help much though, since eight mutalisks made a quick work of them. Phoenix lifted his cc at his natural and tried to move it to the safety of turrets in his main and that's where July's incredible muta micro kicked in. July killed the command center, killed the marines trying to defend them and the SCV's trying to build turrets with constantly renewing number of mutas and an amazing micro, cleared almost all the SCV's in Phoenix's natural. After that it was just a matter of time before July could finish the game with a non stop stream of mutalisks.

By this, JulyZerg went on to the next round where his countryman Midas is waiting after defeating Testie 2-1. After seeing July's muta micro live, I must confess that mutalisks are imbalanced (when controlled by JulyZerg).
