China has been taking the lead in the WarCraft 3 scene, and now it seems they are opening their arms for StarCraft as well. When the Chinese government unbanned eSports showing on television after being banned for three years we have realy seen a massive boost when it comes to eSports in China. The biggest and most known organization is called PGL (Pro Gamer League) and are backed up by the Chinese government and the ALL-China Sport Federation. The organization has already hosted one league in WarCraft 3 where they invited a couple of European players mixed with the best players from China and Korea. The first PGL Invitational title was taken by Sky from World Elite, who is also the current WCG 2006 champion.
The PGL Invitational was a bit special for the WarCraft tournament. After the first round, two matches between four of the losers will be played. The losers of those two matches will then play against the least popular player, and the lowest ranked player in the end will have to leave the tournament. Then, another round will take place the next day, with a similar system. In then end three players will remain, and these three will play together with the fourth player who gets revived based on the players' popularity, decided by the fans.
Invited players
Ehome.Jaystar
Ehome.Super
SOZ.Phoenix66
MYM.F91Whether the PGL are as foreign-friendly when it comes to StarCraft remains to be seen, as they have yet only invited four Chinese players - JayStar, Super, Phoenix66 and F91. There are rumours that the Polish progamer Draco will be invited as well. GosuGamers will look in to this more deeply, as Draco mentioned something about an upcoming league in December.
GosuGamers will keep you posted.

China welcomes StarCraft to the scene once again by hosting a league. So far only Chinese players have been invited, but their WarCraft 3 league by the same organization included foreigners as well.
