In case you missed it, Teamliquid's Manifesto7 posted a very interesting interview about a WCG/StarCraft documentary aimed towards it's popularity in Asia. The Interview is lengthy but worth reading.

Mynock, the interviewer, introduces Ho Chia Wei (The Storyteller) and asks questions about his career and the documentary. Ho Chia Wei gives insight to his time in Korea trying to understand the very popular gaming scene, and gives some insight about the life of a progamer in South Korea.

Well, in about... 2005 or late 2004 The Discovery Channel requested submissions of documentary ideas on Asia. I was tasked to think of some stuff, and one of the things I realized was that Asians are mad about computer games...”

Mynock asked great questions about The Storyteller's decision process. He responds by saying that he was contacted to find an interesting aspect of the Asian society. He immediately realized the popularity of progaming. It was later picked to be the core topic of the documentary. In 2005, the National Geographic Channel (NGC) finally approached him, giving him confirmation to start the documentary. His main objective was to put a lot of emphasis on the life of progamers, WCG, and mostly the player Xellos.
