The Fall of Tarsonis
As if the defeat of their first invasion force was not enough bad news, the Mexican's were in for a real treat in the coming weeks. After Sweden's takeover of Earth, the Russian's were next in line to make a move. Trying to take advantage of Mexico's scrapes and wounds from their defeat at Moria by the Hungarians, Russia had set out to take over Tarsonis as their first conquest. The Russian's sent out fAke.BRAT_OK, 3D.Notforu, and -=iG.Bruce=-. In response, Mexico sent out LG)sTrAtO, RevO_Mx, and LG)StYm. Here are the battles that ensued:

As it turns out, the Mexicans weren't so bruised up after all and put up a strong enough fight to fend off the Russians. This victory, however, would be their last.
Several weeks after Hungary's 3-0 victory over a Mexican invasion it was finally Hungary's turn at bat, and bat they did. With Mexico's attack still fresh in mind the Hungarians were quick to pounce on the Planet Tarsonis, once again defeating the Mexican team 3-0 flawlessly (One game was a walk-over).

As the galaxy bid farewell to Mexico they were soon to bid another American country was about to fall, Canada.
Irony in the Americas
What's more ironic than Canada, dubbed the "Great White North", owning Char? Canada being invaded by the USA. Despite sharing a continent and the world's largest common border, the galaxy was just not big enough for the both of them. Rounding off the countries knocked in the first round is Canada, losing 1-2 to the USA.

First match of the Second Round
Through the first round of eight matches were played and four countries were elminated. The most recent attack in the second round was from Germany, who took over Dylar IV from the Polish. Their motive? Revenge. This then gets the title of the first planet to fall in the second round.

As it stands Russia is the only country still in the game without a second planet. However Antiga Prime does boast having two words in its name, it does not provide a second home to the Russians. Could this minor disadvantage lead to the demise of the Russians in the galaxy, or will they find a second home in time, and at the cost of who? Only time will tell.

The Mercury Issue 7 - First Round Summary
Three weeks after GosuGamer's last report of WGTour's Galactic Conquest, three more countries are without planets as the first round of the Galactic Conquest had ended. Most recently knocked out was Poland. Canada was one of the latest in countries to lose a planet, after Mexico which had witnessed two assaults concessively in two weeks. The last blow being dealt by Hungary, the country Mexico had attacked first.
