The offered prize money is the one thing about this cup that makes it stand out. 100€ was promised to be given to the winner, 60€ to the player who ended up in second place and 40€ would go to the winner of the match between the two semi final losers.
The cup started at 15:15 CET last Sunday (28th) and was a real monster with 285 participants playing a total of ten maps. Considering the rule against smurf accounts, a lot of familiar faces were present; players such as MYM.SEn, ToT)Mondragon(, xLo.White-ra and iG.BounceR (breakdown). There were also a lot of players from LRM, DkH, fAke, four and NrT but the man taking the win home was Oldy from the French team MgZ.
The Canadian Oldy joined the team MicroGamerZ alongside American HungTran almost two weeks ago. Many say this happened because of the loss of the Polish player ParanOid who became a Templar of Twilight, and Oldy has really proven himself worthy of that spot in the French team.
Oldy traveled all the way through the brackets without suffering many setbacks. Meeting the Polish iG. player MysticJoey who kicked xLo.Strelok from the tournament didn't stop him, and not even the Russian player MYM.A2 (also known as MYM.Advokate), who beat Mondragon and White-Ra, could stand up to Oldy.
