Amazing news from the motherland of StarCraft as Kim Dongsoo, probably more known as Garimto, will return to professional gaming after his retirement in 2002.

Around four years ago Kim "Garimto" Dongsoo had to retire from professional gaming. As a replacement for doing army duty he worked as a programmer until now he states in an interview, translated by rinizim over at TeamLiquid.net. Garimto says that he really wanted to be involved in programming a computer game but his mandatory period recently came to an end and it feels like a loss for him because he wanted to learn much more about game designing but he had to make a decision. After a lot of consideration two options were left: remain as a game designer or return to professional gaming.

GARIMTO - God of Protoss returns to progaming

After being asked if progaming will be his future : "After all, I think that is my path. It feels like a peculiar destiny" he answers, but he also states that he lacks of practice and he will focus all of his resources on training. He is well aware of former progamers who failed to return to professional gaming after their army mandatory but there is no limit to his ambition it seems:

That is the exact reason why I am returning as a progamer; that is why I am challenging this. If they were successful after being in army, I would not have decided to return as a progamer...

And he further states that he will not change his race, he will play Protoss and his aim is to participate successfully in the next preliminaries in the individual leagues. He did not sign a contract with any team yet though he has good relations with Hanbit, especially with head coach Jee Jaegyun of Hanbit.

Q: You must be watching the current leagues. Is there anyone you want to fight?

A: No doubt, Ma Jaeyoon (sAviOr). The sheer opportunity to fight him will be tremendous, and if I manage to win by any chance I can garner all the fame collectively. Of course, my skill and intrinsic senses are insufficient now, but we never know; I want to fight him as soon as possible.
