The article that first appeared in the Korean Times about online gaming addiction and the death of the latest Starcraft player has been regurgitated and repeated from media to media without much research into the matter. This tipically reflects the mere sensationalism that is so pervasive in the news today.
For the record the first guy to die a few years back was not a Starcraft player, but some other game. That makes one death only related to Starcraft (that we know of). So remember kids do not do drugs, play Starcraft instead. What am I saying? Rewind: Remember kids do not do drugs and Starcraft is a drug too, so is bad for you, you will get addicted.
And it is not only the main media that thinks this game is akin to using drugs. Some fans think so too. The-Holy-Son, the artist of this weeks POTW, puts into graphical wonders his belief that one can can get high just playing Starcraft. Anyway here is a different take on the matter.

The main media has been raving about e-gaming being addictive and noxious for health. No news to us, in fact The-Holy-Son, the artist featured today, has put their words into an interesting graphical representation. Be warned, the subliminals are very strong.
