Mazor's WCG Blog for 2005 is hereby initiated. I have travelled together with Erkenbrand, Head Administrator of WGTour.com, and Morglum, administrator at WGTour and NetWars.pl. We met up in Amsterdam and ran into another set of four referees for games such as FIFA and Need for Speed.
The flight was far too long, although it had some minor highlights (sweets only for breakfast and me being able to switch seats with a Singaporian so that all StarCrafters could sit next to each other. The whole trip took me a total of 24 hours. Today we (the few referees who have arrived) have been swimming in the nice pool at the player hotel and we went downtown Singapore by cab. The city is very nice but disturbingly hot and you need constant cooldowns to keep fit.
Only a few StarCraft players are here so far, I have met LG)Blast who insisted speaking English after being confronted by my Spanish. Most players are reportedly to arrive tomorrow (Tuesday) while the referees are preparing computers, the tournament area, rules and regulations.
I'm looking forward to an awesome week which has been starting out very nicely, even though our free day tomorrow seems cancelled due to work. I will try to get a stop at the pentecostal church tomorrow, though, since I have heard it has over 600,000 members and over ten floors in their main church - definitely worth to check out.
We will put up the live results of matches using GosuBet. Click Events -> World Cyber Games 2005 Grand Final to see an overview of all matches including results as they get in. The blog posts will contain my personal opinions, feelings and view on the situation while other news are being posted in a more informative and neutral angle. This time we will not post a news with the latest updates, you have to click to the event coverage to see it yourself since it's updated automatically (I only edit the winner of the GosuBet). At the event coverage, you will also find links to the latest news posted about the event and links to forum posts.
We're also getting in new RAM to the computer shortly so we are hoping for a faster server. More updates as they come in! Bed next, for me.

35 degrees Celsius, 80% humidity, three days left to the start of the Grand Final, an unstable wireless connection, awesomely cheap Oakley clothes downtown, too hot clothes, lots of nice people and not enough sleep - a summary of the first day in Singapore.
