The fourth and last piece have been added to the map package of World Cyber Games 2005 for StarCraft. They now present the map that people already presumed would be the fourth - Azalea. This, including interviews with the map creators from mapdori.com.

Together with Paranoid Android, Estrella and Gaia comes now Azalea the fourth and last map that will be played in World Cyber Games 2005. And no, it is not just only for the USA qualification. "These maps will be used for the WCG preliminaries in 70 countries around the world, and at the Grand Final in Singapore." it says in the official newspost. This map, as well as the other three, were made by the staff at » MapDori.com, a site filled with maps and a community with the passion to create and analyze StarCraft maps. The three creators Byun Jong-Seok, Cho Seung-Yeon, and Kim Jin-Tae were given the honor to develope and create the World Cyber Games 2005 maps. At the WCG site, they were interviewed and asked various questions regarding maps.

Creative and fun together with wellbalanced = hard

Byun, Jong-Seok tells that it is really hard to capture both the elements of the map being both creative and fun and wellbalanced. "Official maps must satisfy both. That`s why it`s difficult to make." The previous World Cyber Games maps were heavily criticized and were said to profit the Terran players a lot. The WCG maps have always been argued about, and there is always someone that is not satisfied. But how do they do it when they create maps? one might ask, and to that Cho Seung-Yeon responded: "I believe that if a person can analyze the matches well, they can make a good map.". While one of the others say that he has no special way, he just gets ideas in his head for new maps and simply doodle them down as a concept art.

Wellknown Korean map makers

The mapmakers for World Cyber Games 2005 maps are already renowned map creators in the Korean scene, where many of their maps are played in the professional leagues. Byun, Jong-Seok has made maps like Nostalgia, Korhal of Ceres and Guillotine. One is more known under his nickname [Ragnarok]Valkyrie, who created the Bifrost series. With these factors and map makers, GosuGamers hope that the new World Cyber Games maps will be loved by many and bring some really great games for the 5th World Cyber Games event.
