Uzoo MBCGame Starleague started a couple of days ago. Four matches on three different maps were to be played in the televised league in Korea. The most interesting match of the four were BoxeR versus JulyZerg on Raid Assault 2. Before this match, JulyZerg had quite the advantage over BoxeR after beating him four times in a row. "Despite the fact that I lost four times in a row, still in pressure, I wanted to win." says BoxeR to FighterForum after the match, translated by PGL~Stu. "However, I wasn’t satisfied to win just by defending." he says.
BoxeR started out with a very safe build to later tech up to two Starports as JulyZerg goes for both Hydralisks and Mutalisks. Once BoxeR got his Wraiths up he immediately started to harass JulyZerg a bit with his Wraiths: killing one overlord and a couple of drones. Shortly thereafter he went on the offensive with a Marine and Medic troop, but never launched the attack, as JulyZerg dropped Hydralisks in BoxeR's main. Thanks to BoxeR's Wraiths it did not do much damage.
Now it goes into a drop battle where both players are using their dropships/overlords very efficiently. July keeps on dropping and does some major damage on BoxeR's natural and blowing off a lot of SCVs. At the same time as he is taking care of the attack at home, BoxeR drops JulyZerg's main, taking out the Defiler's Mound that is being built. After a while it is status quo again and both players are taking it easy. "I believe the opponent brought in the strategy I’ve practiced for. We played like we knew what was going on." BoxeR reveals in the interview.
With both players pretty even in economy by having three bases each, JulyZerg goes on the offensive again and takes down the Terran army at the front line and goes for one of the expansions. With the help of Defilers and some Dark Swarms it goes down. With only one expansion left except for his main base, BoxeR does a really nice comeback with Science Vessels with Irradiate helping out his Terran force. BoxeR also takes out one of JulyZerg's expansions making JulyZerg pretty short on cash. Only a couple of minutes later JulyZerg admits defeat and leaves the game.
In the interview afterwards, BoxeR tells FighterForum that he played 70 matches against Zerg players on Raid Assault 2 which was indeed very tiring, he tells. "Playing 70 games with Terran is losing a lot of physical strength". He was not satisfied with the training so he did not sleep well either. Despite that he managed to win, and thereby broke the suite JulyZerg had against BoxeR.
