* = Still not officially confirmed
** = Doubts about participationSamsung European Championships 2005 (SEC 2005) might be more known to you as the European Cyber Games (ECG) as it was called last year. The event features the top one player per game from each European country participating WCG 2004. The event itself has no relations to WCG 2005 in Singapore and does not work as a preliminary or anything alike. It will be held in Hannover, Germany along with the CeBIT exhibition. The prize money has not yet been announced, but the SEC will be covering all travel expenses and accomodation for the players. The event will begin 10th March (Thursday) and last until the 13th (Sunday).
GosuGamers will be covering the event on spot like our previous World Cyber Games Grand Final, including live updates, replays, pictures and interviews from the event. Make sure to be with us by then!
There are still some countries who did not yet sign up for the list of participants. This is mainly due to the fact that each nation's organizers (known as the "strategical partners") have been slow selecting which player to send from each game. Netherlands, Spain and Bulgaria got their confirmations with just weeks of notice - the Nordic contestants are still waiting for information. However, we have had it confirmed by the SEC management that the players will be able to attend regardless of the response time of the nations strategic partner. "It might be to late to now, not sure if I can leave work with such a short notice" says Eriador (Eivind Leknes). France was still not signed up on the list as of today and whether players like ElkY (Bertrand Gospiellier) or the now-a-days retired MaDFroG (Fredrik Johansson) or perhaps WCG 2004 WarCraft III winner 4K.Grubby (Manuel Schenkhuizen) will attend is still to be confirmed.
Samsung European Championships (SEC) 2005 is only nine days away as the list of participants still grows. The official list currently includes twelve participants although more is to be expected. GosuGamers will be on spot in Germany covering the event!
