Blade StormThe WGTour has had its Nation War ladder, giving all the nations the ability to play as many nation wars they wanted and thereby get points from that depending on how well ranked the opponents were. Some teams, among them Sweden, whose administrators had the opinion that it led to nowhere and thereby did not play that much on that ladder. However, a playoff of some sort is much more interesting as a true champion can then be crowned, based on true skill and not just the number of matches played. Now, the WGTour administration has announced a new cup - War of the World.
The War of the World is seperated in two different tournaments - Battlefield America (including both North and South America) - and War for Europe. Each tournament starts out with 8 nations, each and every one of them invited. The bracket format is Double Elimination, and once the two seperated tournaments are over the both champions will face eachother to crown the winner of the beta WNT system. The first round of the tournaments starts on Sunday the 4th of June with the matches stated below;
If this WNT beta stage proves to be succesful, the WNT admin team plans to continue with another Nations Cup, that will work as the clanleague system. The Top 4 from each tournament in this beta will then move on to the Winners Division, and other nations will be in a lower division, fighting for a place in the highest division.

Cyru announced the UGL Nation Wars Cup a bit more than a month ago, bringing 16 nations into a new cup. The desire for a competitive nation wars cup was strong, and was eased a bit. Now, WGTour has announced their new nation cup - War of the World.
