The first casted match was MorroW against kolll, two newcomers of the scene battling it out for a spot in the playoffs. MorroW's record against kolll has been good lately, winning in ESL Major Series and beating him in the ICCup Clanleague. As the young German was urging for a revenge, he came back after a loss in the first game of the TL Starleague qualifiers round three, and won three games in a row against MorroW. The first game showed poor mutamicro from kolll, but it got better in the next games.
In an interview with Teamliquid, kolll explained how he prepared for the games against MorroW;
- "fortunately morrow uploaded his repack on TL, so I was able to research what he does on each map, so I had a lot of information about his playstyle before I played him".
iNfeRnaL and GosI[TerraN] were the ones who brought the entertainment to a whole new level this round, Tasteless even described it as one of the best games he had ever casted, and if you think about WCG 2009 and Gom TV, he's been casting a lot of good games in the past.
The first game started out to look like a disaster for iNfeRnaL as GosI[TerraN] was making what seemed to be a push that was nearly impossible to stop from iNfeRnaL's point of view. However, he got the Arbiters ready and had a bunch of zealots ready, waiting for the right moment, and timed his attack perfectly, killing of the push. The game continued to become very epic, and ended in a win for the German Protoss, iNfeRnaL.
The fun didn't stop there though, the third game is probably the most memorable game of this season's TSL so far. It started out on Destination. After a bunch of action, it looked as if iNfeRnaL was looking for the double G's on the keyboard, but he managed to stay alive while he massed out a lot of carriers at the same time he was upgrading them. The carriers were dominating for a long time all around the map, and TerraN's fully upgraded goliaths didn't seem to do the job. But he focusfired the nexuses in iNfeRnaL's expansions, which made him eventually run out of minerals, and in the end the carriers had to take the fall.
In the fourth game GosI[TerraN] ran over iNfeRnaL with a well timed push packed of tanks, marines and medics. iNfeRnaL tried to stop it with dark templars, but several scans took care of that without any problems, and it ended in a 3-1 favor for GosI[TerraN].
CaStrO against MaNa was supposed to be casted, but it was replaced by the kolll vs MorroW game. The replaypack from day one of the round three qualifiers, so if you want to relive all the games download it in the link below. CaStrO won his games over MaNa by 3-0.
