This, ladies and gentlemen, is what we've all been waiting for! The finals in ClanBase Nations Cup! Germany leads with 4-1!

A couple of hours earlier today, Germany was up against Finland. Everybody has been talking about it, David versus Goliath, favourites versus underdogs, how easily Germany went to the finals, and Finland's impressive wins, one after another.

Germany showed their strength
Germany punctured the game straight ahead, by winning all 1on1 matches but one. Clawson upheld the Finnish pride by winning over InFiNitY. Other than that it looked like it usually does when Germany is playing, European Top stars such as Mondragon, Fenris, Socke and heXer winning their matches, which gave Germany a comfortable 4-1 pillow behind their backs, meaning that the Cup will go to the Germans, no matter what.

2on2s just starting
Despite that Germany has the Cup right where they want it, the 2on2 games are still playing. Finland had to bring in a replacement - pop.rH who will play together with Ovvi. They are currently down with 0-1, but everything can happen!

Bitter defeat for Finland
After winning the game versus Canada, Finland felt that they had a bigger chance versus Germany. But it ended in a painful defeat - 6-1 for Germany. Finland showed up with a great lineup, and so did their enemies, and it turned into a great Nation War. "We once again show the the world, that Germany is one of the strongest nations out there.", BetrayaL writes at Broodwar.de. First, congratulations to the Cup! How do you feel?
  • Thanks, i'm happy that the final ended this way and we won the first cup that was held for nations.
Did you expect this to happen when you first sent in your confirmation that Germany was to compete in the cup?
  • Hm, yes and no, because we didn't know who else will participate in this cup. There are a lot other strong nations like Poland, Sweden, Spain and some others that are very strong and that are favorites too. But after beating Russia, who knocked out Poland in the semifinals i was pretty sure, that we can win this thing.
How come you have such great players in Germany? And which one is your most important player in Team GER?
  • Dunno about the first on. I guess its because the other nations dont have so great players like Germany and that's because we have the best :) We don't have a player that is most important. All players are important. You can't win things like this, without a good team.
Which country was the toughest to beat?
  • Hm. I think it was Russia, but no sure about it. Personally im disapointed with the Netherlands.
Sweden lost to the Netherlands with 2-5, and you totalled them with 7-0. And in the last war where Sweden faced Germany, you won with 3-4. What do you believe is up with Netherlands? Just bad luck?
  • Hm, I think they just had a bad day. Normally and with a good lineup they're one of the best nations in europe. In the game between Sweden and the Netherlands, Sweden had a lack of good players imo, maybe thats why the loss was so clear.
Next season the ClanBase Cup will be 4x1on1 and 1x2on2, what do you think of that?
  • Thats pretty bad. Luck will play a more important factor, because there are only 4 1on1 and one 2on2. If one play is not in good shape, there are only 3 more games in the 1on1's, so every game will be important. We're very strong in the 2on2's, but for us i think, it will not be a disadvantage, because we have still one of the strongest 1on1 lineups.
