(TE), iG. and now [pG] for Matti Punkari
Clawson was a very valuable player in Team Extreme, the underdog clan which eventually won the entire WGTCL. When it eventually got disbanded, he moved on to the clan Infernal Gamers where he developed a lot as a player, he tells GosuGamers. His clanmates speaks well of him and say that he is very mannered, friendly and also a very good player. After a couple of months there, he now decided to switch clans to the originally German-based clan pro-Gaming. Kentaro[pG], leader of the Brood War squad in pro-Gaming, tells GosuGamers that Matti is a very friendly and mannered player that convinced all the [pG] players of his skill.
Kentaro[pG], pro-Gaming.bw leader
Why did you decide to bring in ArCNeON in to pro-Gaming?
- Matti is a really friendly and mannered player who has convinced all pG members of his skill. Further on he is very active and we are sure that we will be good addition to the team.
He is one of many good Protoss players in Europe that are members of [pG]. Will he be a first choice in the lineups for clanwars?
- Of course we will bring him in several clanwars since korean clans love to play 7 1v1s or even more and i am quite sure he is ranked at the top of those!
For how long have you had your eyes on Clawson?
- Quite a long time. I've waited to be convinced and it didn't take that long until I was sure that he would perfectly fit into the team
Regarding sponsorship and so on; will Clawson receive any sponsorship for joining pro-Gaming?
- At the moment pro-gaming.de is in a restructuring phase and therefore I cannot guarantee any sponsorship for anyone. I hope that our management will recover and get things back to normal soon.
Will miss many Infernal Gamers characters
After we talked to Clawson's new leader about it we moved on to the man himself. In the interview he reveals that he will have a completely new nickname, but people will definitely know it's him. Panda fetishist as he is, he will now be playing under the account PaNDa[pG]. He finds it both sad and good that will be joining pro-Gaming. He said that he will miss many Infernal Gamers characters a lot, especially newHABIT, onlytodaY, ErlinG, KaaZ and the leader BingBong. As always when leaving an old clans behind, there are some that are grumpy and angry, but Matti says that they hopefully will get over it.
First, congratulations to the spot in one of the most experienced and wellknown clans in the world. Was this expected from your side, or did it suddenly feel right? Tell me about how it happened.
- Heh, in a long period of time I've tried to join pG and when it finally happened I had founded a clan that gave a problem to my joining so it went a bit longer than even I expected. I have always had great respect to pG.
With this clanchange you are leaving the clan Infernal Gamers behind. How do you feel about that?
I'm crying and smiling at the same time... iG. was almost everything I've been looking from a clan, a mistake of my own made me leave it, also the mistake of 99% of the members in iG. Great clan, I cant really say anything bad about it. Best clan I've been so far.
How do you think the other Infernal Gamers members will react with your move to [pG]?
- Well I already got something little shit on me, but in a longer terms I think they'll miss me ^^ I love many iG. members and I wish them best of luck and I hope that I have gained their trust & respect during my time in iG.
“
iG.ArCNeON.. or Arcneon without the iG. tag.. has been one of the most mannered and nicest people I've met on b.net ever, he's always the one behind the laughters and any time spent with him is pure joy. I'll miss this player, awfully alot. Matti is always playing, doesnt matter which time of the day, he's always the first one to go play and the last one to stop for the day. An empty room which cannot be filled, will be left behind. Good Luck in the future Matti.
” - iG.newHABITWhich of the iG players were your best friends?- Meanie guestion --;; Well there are many good friends, like newHABIT, onlytodaY, ErlinG, KaaZ and the KING BingBong. Russians would be nice friends but they're so chobo in English its hard to talk to them ^^ like iG.Ro[S2] and iG.EX[S2].
Did you any kind of relationship to the [pG] members before you joined? Were there any certain players that made you more interested in joining?
- Unlike joining iG. there was no player that effected my joining in any way. I know many of them but that didn't effect :|
How do you think this clan swap will change you as a player?
- I'm not sure if my skill level increases because of this clan change, professionalism actually might even though I think I already am more professional about the game than even progamers And NO I dont mean my skills, I mean the practicing, thinking, learning :) Maybe I will become next progaming team manager Team Panda sounds good ^^
What do you think of the pG leader Kentaro[pG]?
- Seems like an interesting person :) We're not old friends or anything but he seems like a nice guy :)
Was this the best thing that has happened in 2005 in StarCraft for you?
- Haha, I can't answer to that Ask me again in a couple months when I've gotten some time in pG
You did not take part in Samsung Euro Championships. What stood in your way?
- There was trouble with the person responsible for the Nordic countrues, since he doesnt exist, we tried hard but they just said they dont send tickets to inviduals, and I didnt have that kind of money to travel there on my own, I was very dissapointed about that :(
Do you think [pG] is as respected as they were a couple of years ago? If not, why do you think so?
- Respect / love / beauty, and all stuff like that always is in the eyes of the viewer. In my eyes pG is the same as it used to be, but as in the public I've heard enough people to say bad stuff about pG, and some people saying how they dont respect pG at all anymore. So I guess pG might not be as respected as in the old times :P
Before your switch to [pG] you were playing under iG.ArCNeON. How will your new nickname look like? Will you use Clawson, ArCNeON or perhaps Panda?
- Hehe, I went trough a lot of nicks to use in my mind and tested some Well there were some favorite nicks of mine and in the end I decided to pick the nick PaNDa[pG] after Kentaro gave me a lil speech :P
Team Liquid Tour
You are currently playing Team Liquid Tour and you are ranked #10; what do you think of TLTour? Compare this season to the last one.
- Uhh... I love TLT, very good players to play with, no players with 50:0 like wgt ^^ Sometimes you cant find opponent easily but I guess every ladder has this problem at some point, and if you take a note that its a ladder that COSTS, so it aint really big wonder at all ^^ I dont remember last TLT very well... Only thing I actually remember about it was that daaman changed to zerg then or something and still owned everyone ^^
What do you think of the fact that there is no BwScanner in the TLTour ladder?
- I dont care, if there's cheaters, its their problem, not mine When I see a cheater getting banned and I have won him it gives me a good laugh always^^ If I'd use maphack I'd probably never lose a game But maybe there are some factors that prevents hack using so obviously as I would use it :)
ArCNeON during World Cyber Games 2004 in San
Fransisco. Here in the player hotel. How good a shot do you think you have on winning the TLTour playoffs?
- Not very good ^^ There are couple players that have too strong game style for me, but like top 5 or something is possible even for me. (Atleast as I see it :) )
Is TLTour needed for the foreign community?
- Nah... But its fun to have stuff like this around, its like if you see a football match (except if you are a football freak) and you are like "bllaaah", but if you have made a bet over it, lets say 50-500$, that shit makes the game hell a lot more interesting ^^
World Cyber Games
How was it traveling down there with the rest of the Nordic team - TreK, Eriador, poGDI, Mazor and from the other games?
- Well as I guessed it was nice, I love poGDI <3 I was pretty much stunned the whole trip going there cuz I slept on the floor and had a very bad night sleep but they amused me during the trip ^^ I fucked up a lil on the way there I lost my boarding pass ^^
What about the player hotel? Who did you share room with?
- With the Finnish players. 1 from the CS team and Finlands #1 WC3 player. Player hotel was just awesome, it was perfect for me ^^ I loved that hotel so much T_T Met many players there, many nice guys ^^ Although 30-50% of the guys I talked there I had no idea who they were T_T But bw players almost all I knew :)
You came 2nd in your group, but then lost to the Russian player Androide. What do you think of Androide as a player?
- He's awesome :) I love his playstyle, many people told me I would win vs him and I could not believe how wrong can they be (at the moment they said it), I didnt expect a win, but anyway I tried my best and played like a c6 noob Nice trip no matter what :D
Will you take part in World Cyber Games 2005 if there will be a qualification for Finland?
- Absolutely, and during the past days I've already started to think about it a lot, practice program for the WCG maps and something little special for the Grand final if I will win the Finnish guys again :)
What do you think of the new WCG maps that have been released? Have you tried them out?
- Umm I haven't played them at all yet, I want to get TLT out of the way first at least ^^ But I saw a pic of Gaia and it looked pretty nice, and I obsed 1 game in some weird map, Paradise or something if I remember right. Was a little weird but cool in a way, I think in these maps you can make interesting games up, and thats actually only thing I care about the maps ^^ PaNDa[pG], which he now will be known as, is one of the Nordic's best players and one of the most mannered players. GosuGamers wishes him the best of luck in his gaming career.
