PSG Talon is one series win away from the next round of the Play-In Stage.

The first day of the League of Legends World Championship saw PSG Talon come out on top against Rainbow7 to put themselves ahead in Group A. PSG Talon is now just one best-of-three series win away from securing a spot to the next round of the Play-In Stage.

As for Rainbow7, they will have one more chance as they lay waiting for the loser between the next series, LOUD versus GAM Esports. The winner of that series will go on to meet PSG to see who will go undefeated in Group A. But it was the six-time PCS champions who took the series with aplomb as they made light work of their Latin American counterparts.

However, R7 started the match fairly well by winning the first teamfight by the top lane river as the LLA champions would end up making PSG work overtime for the win. The gold graph featured a rollercoaster-esque motion with both teams swapping gold leads back and forth. But it was  Wei-Yang "Wako" Zou with his Xayah who turned up in game one with seven kills, zero deaths, and six assists.

While it was a bloodbath once both teams started to get going, it was PSG who became too much for Rainbow7 to deal with. Game two was just as bad for the LLA victors as PSG brought yet another near-flawless game to the Rift. They held Rainbow7 to just four kills in the second match, which goes to show just how well PSG outplayed their opponents.

It also didn't help matters when Yi-Tang "Maple" Huang decided to put the team on his back and showcased his efficiency on Jayce in the middle lane. Maple ended the second match with six kills, five assists, and zero deaths - a perfect KDA score for him.

PSG Talon will now await the winner between LOUD and GAM Esports to determine who they will face in their next series. As for Rainbow7, they will wait for the loser between that series to see who they will face in the do-or-die series.
