Jin Air Greenwings announces mid laner Lee “GBM" Chang-seok will be leaving the organization to join the North American LCS for season 6. It is not yet know which team he will join.
In late 2014, Lee “Ganked By Mom" Chang-seok rejoined Korean team Jin Air Greenwings as the starting mid laner after a temporary leave. The team would go on to end 4th place in the LCK spring split, losing 0-3 to CJ Entus in the 3rd place series. As the summer split came around, the team fell further into mediocrity as they only landed 6th place overall.
On November 6th, Korea’s annual KeSPA Cup tournament will be starting. Only a day before the tournament begins, news reports showed that Jin Air had made a roster change, replacing GBM with Lee “Kuzan" Seong-hyeok. Hours later, Jin Air announced publicly that GBM has made the decision to transfer to North America to compete in the LCS next year, but still have yet to announce a team for the prized mid laner. Jin Air has also been voted into representing Korea in the upcoming IEM San Jose international tournament, and will presumably be keeping Kuzan in their starting roster for the time being.
As every region looks to bring their best for season 6, many more roster changes have been made to shake up nearly every team in preparation for next year. After Worlds, NA specifically looks to step up their game in order to prove the region has what it takes to be the best. This Korean star may just be what a certain team needs to put themselves above everyone else.
