After underperforming in the first two weeks of the European League Championship Series, Giants Gaming brings in a new player to their ranks. Their starting jungler will now be Joachim “BetongJocke” Rasmussen.
The EU LCS has been underway for two weeks now and the biggest disappointment thus far has been from former star team, Giants Gaming. They have so far had a sloppy record of 0-4 in the LCS standings, leaving them in dead last.
In order to help gain an edge over the competition, Giants announced that their new jungler will be BetongJocke, former substitute of H2K Gaming. Giants explained they felt that Betong’s personality better suited the team, as quoted by head coach, David “LozarK” Alonso.
“After the off-season trials, BetongJocke was one of our best options to fill the jungle role. We believe that Joachim's personality suits the team perfectly. After a few days training with us, I am positive that his experience and his force of will will enhance our performance.” -LozarK, 2016Additionally, this left Giants to release their former member, Tri Tin “k0u” Lam. k0u used Twitter to thank his fans and supporters, talking heavily about how fan support is what really drives these LCS stars.
With a new jungler under their belt, it will be interesting to see if the Giants will have what it takes to stand up against EU’s stiff competition. Tell us what you think of this change, and what this team’s future might hold.
