In a dominating performance, all-Polish Challenger Squad Departed (ex-Pulse eSports) advances to the EU Challenger Series #2 Finals where they will face off against the winners of tomorrow's match between Reason Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Due to technical issues, Never Give Up (formerly Awsomniacs) was forced to concede the first game, giving Departed a significant advantage heading into the second game of the best of three.
Game 2
A face-check by Ritix put the Never Give Up bot-lane significantly far behind to start the game, giving Departed a strong start to the early game. While most lanes simply traded farm, the Departed bot duo was incredibly aggressive, landing many hooks but somehow never coming up with a kill.
Punishing Morsu’s potion only start, Babunia earned first blood with a solo kill after gaining an early advantage. From there, Kikis and Babunia were relentless in their dives on Morsu, killing him time after time. Lasagna attempted to relieve the pressure by ganking all around the map, but found none of the success Kikis was.
The bot-lane continued to be action packed into the mid-game, as a 2v2 led to a brilliant outplay by Woolite onto Ritix as he Spell-shielded the Piercing Light which would have spelled his death before landing a final auto-attack to pick up the kill.
A frantic skirmish around dragon at 20 minutes gave Departed three kills and a solid 8k gold lead, and with such a large advantage they quickly pushed down several towers. Trading their middle tower for the Baron, Departed then charged right through Never Give Up’s base, picking up the ace and the game right after.
With the win Departed secure their spot in the Challenger Series #2 finals, earning at least 10 points and mathematically guaranteeing themselves a spot in the top 6.
