SKT T1 K win OGN Champions Spring with perfect record

SKT T1 K, the current reigning Season 3 World Champions and Champions Summer winner, have been Dominating the Korean scene since their return and have been undefeated (15 – 0) since the playoffs. Making a statement that they are the current ruler to the Korean League of Legends scene they have make it their mission to take down Samsung Ozone to cement their position and world champions.
Samsung Galaxy Ozone, ever since their dominating final match with CJ Blaze which secured their Championship spot at Champions Spring, have been having a lackluster performance since then. With their underperformance at worlds being the most prominent, Dade not performing to standard and Looper having to replace Homme due to his small champion pool, Ozone is looking to prove to the world that they are still a force to be reckoned with. Their only bragging right is that they have gone 8:4 against SKT T1 K and are planning to keep it that way.
SKT T1 K vs. Samsung Ozone
Picks and bans see an obvious targeted ban against Faker. Ozone banned Kassadin, Yasuo, and Leblanc against the then reigning MVP, seemingly to limit his assassination chances while SKT banned Thresh, Caitlyn and Lee Sin, common bans for Mata, Imp and DanDy. On the second, Dade picked a fast Gragas and Faker immediately responded with a Riven, seemingly how he dominated KT Bullets Ryuu’s Gragas with the exile one.
The match was quickly brought into SKT’s favorable tempo with a teleport play by Impact bringing SKT first blood and a turret. After a bad disengage by ozone once securing dragon, the lead was further extended and SKT was able to gain vision control by having multiple vision wards on the map. At the 17 minute mark, SKT was confident enough to secure baron and push for turrets. With no hope of a comeback, Ozone surrendered at 20 minutes.
Picks and bans sees Ozone target banning against Faker again, banning out his Gragas, Kassadin and Riven. SKT responded by banning Thresh, Caitlyn and Lee Sin again. With SKT prioritizing Sivir as their first pick, Ozone was quick to pick up Yasuo for Dade. Faker responded by picking Karthus seeing that there was no way to block Lay Waste and Defile with Yasuo’s Wind Wall. Ozone’s lineup was completed by Looper’s Zac providing the knockup that is need for Yasuo’s Last Breath.
The early game was fairly in Ozone’s control as they controlled the objectives well. Both lanes were even with only skirmishes happening around the map. Bengi and DanDy were able to make their presence felt by ganking and counter ganking all around. All eyes were on the mid lane matchup between Faker’s Karthus and Dade’s Yasuo; both of them were trading evenly with Faker leading in kills during the mid-game due to timely ganks by Bengi. A miscommunication in team fight at dragon during the 22 minute mark by Ozone leads to a trade in favor of SKT. As MonteCristo said, give SKT a pixel and they will take the whole resolution, which proved to be true as Impact became an unstoppable tank and was able to carry his team to victory.
No changes were seen during the banning phase and Ozone was quick to first pick Sivir, which they identified as the cause to their previous two losses. With Gragas being picked for Ozone again, Faker instalocked Riven once more.
The game was again in Ozone’s control and this time not only were they controlling objectives, they were able to play SKT’s game of fast pushing turrets. SKT were able to respond to the turret game well, showing the ability to keep the gold lead even. A bad decision from Ozone in their attempt to contest dragon and not play the split-push game caused the team once again to fall behind. Ozone failed to get a solid trade in team fights even though they stole dragon. This dragon fight eventually leads to SKT taking Baron for themselves and bulldozing their way through the mid lane. A cocky play by SKT eventually lead to an ace when they overstayed their welcome in the enemy’s base, which was the only hope for Ozone to stage a comeback. But the lead was too great and SKT T1 was able to force a baron Baron Dance in their favor to path their way to a perfect season.
