Despite a very close game between Millenium and Fnatic, Fnatic still came out on top. Copenhagen Wolves and SK Gaming also managed to pull out a win to kick off Week 1 Day 3.
SK vs. SHC
The first thing to note about this game is nRated's confidence going into the game with his Galio support, a first in a very long time. With CandyPanda, the two were able to dominate the late game and SHC showed great regret in not banning out Kassadin, who would apply loads of pressure and continue throughout the course of the game to be a problem for SHC. Meanwhile, Fredy had an absurdly higher value of farm in comparison to everyone else in the game.
Winning in turrets, objective control, and teamfights, SK Gaming were on fire this week and were on course to win their second game of the week. With the entirety of the SK squad being overly fed, the game closed out with an excellent ultimate from the hands of nRated, which was then pushed into hard aggression on the top lane, taking out the top inhibitor tower, inhibitor, base turrets, and shortly after, the nexus.
MIL vs. FNC
Millenium made things interesting this game by picking the first Yasuo in the tournament as well as playin ga tank Gragas top. Kev1n unfortunately was first blooded top and was forced to blow his flash, allowing Fnatic to abuse him top laneand slow him down. This resulted in him giving up a very early first tower and having to deal with a massive farm deficit.
Millenium managed to forge a comeback and grow greatly into the lead, but sOAZ helped pull the equilibrium back into Fnatic's favor to create a very close game. Though Rekkles didn't die the first 2 days of the LCS, he was caught out plenty of times by Millenium this game. In an incredibly long team where both teams were so tanky that neither could kill each other, Fnatic eventually prevailed after capitalizing on mistakes during a baron fight. Eventually, they were able to close out the game.
ROC vs. CW
Early aggression from Copenhagen Wolves kicked off the match against Roccat, blowing Vandernoob's flash bottom with a well timed Lee Sin gank. With a lack of deaths early, the blood would begin to shed when Copenhagen Wolves anticipated Roccat countering the lane rotations, resulting in two easy kills for CHW into a free dragon. Both teams were relatively even heading into the mid game, but Copenhagen Wolves had trouble finding an answer to the split push from Xaxus.
Despite the relatively low kill score, there was tons of action. Both teams were still very close in gold levels at around 30 minutes in with equal towers. After a favorable fight for CHW, they attempted baron but still could not seize it. However, ROCCAT's split-pushing tactic as well as Evelynn's attempt to flank would not pay out and the Wolves would take the win off of ROC.
