Andy “Reginald” Dinh, former mid-laner and owner of Team SoloMid recently held an Ask Me Anything on reddit. Here is a short summary of the some his thought on retirement, TSM now, bring on Bjergsen and more.

The full post can be found here.

Looking Back on his Career and his Fellow Players:

"The most exciting series was against m5 at IEM Kiev...even though we lost"

"We’re [Chaox and Reginald] on neutral terms, but we no longer talk"

"Hotshot is a nice guy…but I don’t think he’s very smart"

"I kind of miss the old days where matches of TSM vs CLG were way more hyped up…its gotten old now because CLG hasn’t been doing too well…JK"

"The most important thing about being a pro player is the ability to adapt and learn fast"

On Retirement:

"Dan did an awesome job helping me out, but because I retired…it made more sense for me to play the supportive role for TSM IRL"

"Not quite sure if a general manager could be a sub, but I’d like to be. I believe that I am still able to compete against NA mids"

"I’ve wanted to slowly step back since season 2 because playing professionally and running a company is just too much. I wasn’t able to fully dedicate myself to the game. No regrets here"

"I personally enjoy watching more than playing"

Finding a Replacement:

"[Froggen] wouldn't fit with TSM"

“I never gave Nyjacky an offer at all actually not even once”

“Jacky was good in s2, but his skill level in s2 is exaggerated by fans.”

"Bjergsen is a really hard worker and im extremely happy to have picked him up. He doesn’t take his job for granted and is always responsible"

Dexter's Visa and CLG:

"I actually think they’ll have a strong roster this year if Dexter can get a visa"

"He probably made a really big mistake while going through customs. League of Legends is recognized as a real sport by the US and now its extremely easy to get one for any LoL Pro"

?

TSM Now and in the Future:

"The biggest difference is that Bjergsen can focus on playing a standard AP role, whereas I was engaging most of the fights on TSM. We’re focusing on improving our ability to engage team fights which is showing good progress"

"Oddone has stepped up his game a lot recently and Im really excited to see our team play this season. Oddone has always been really good with timers, objectives and just helping the team understand the situation of the map. Mechanics were never his strong suit so we’ve been emphasizing on mechanics more specifically for Oddoone and I saw drastic improvement at the BotA, I was quite impressed"

"Turtle has really stepped up and hes doing a lot of the calls. Oddone does a fair bit as well. Its more of a team thing now"

Conclusion:

Overall, it seems that Reginald is content helping out TSM from a managment position and is working hard on expanding the brand. He recently added a Smite team, and the obvious improvement for the League of Legends team means the future is bright for TSM. Reginald also acknowledges that his play was not of quality last season but doesn't place any blame, and his reflections on his career seem humble.
