After a five week group stage, 2014 GPL Winter advances to brackets with TPA and TPS taking top seeds. This season of GPL saw four teams dominating the group stage. Azubu Taipei Assassins and ahq e-Sports Club topped Group A, while the Azubu Taipei Snipers and HK Attitude lead Group B. Each of these teams only lost two games a piece and were forced into tie-breakers to decide seeding into the bracket stage. The Taipei Assassins barely defeated ahq e-Sports for the top spot in Group A in a fifty minute game. In the Group B tie-breaker, the Azubu Taipei Snipers slowly overcame the rising Hong Kong stars in an equally long game. Though those four teams took the top seeds in the bracket stage, Saigon Jokers and Mineski also advanced from Group A, and Singapore Sentinels and Full Louis emerged from Group B. All four teams were able to consistently beat their lower ranked competitors and stay in GPL. The real story here is Team Full Louis, a relatively new team that just recently was able to qualify for a GPL event when their jungler, Lê "SofM" Quang Duy, turned seventeen. They were able to not only squeek out of group stage and defeat the older Bangkok Titans, but also take a game from Hong Kong Attitude. Though tie-breakers have been played and seeds decided, matches have yet to be scheduled.
