After a shaky start, SK Gaming's new line-up worked out their kinks and took home ~$10,000 for their first place finish at DreamHack Winter.
After dropping a game yesterday against the BYOC Qualifier team Intellectual Playground, SK Gaming sorted out their issues and made it to the grand finals against Kiedy? Mia?em Team. After meeting them in the grand finals this afternoon, KMT showed their strength is not to be trifled with and was able to take the first game off of SK Gaming.
Throughout the entire set, KMT had an incredible early game, bullying SK Gaming during the laning phase but failing to have the teamwork to close out games later on. In the second game of the set, SK Gaming found themselves nearly 10 kills behind and several turrets, but their lategame teamwork allowed for an epic comeback that would bring them into a game 3.
When Game 3 commenced, SK Gaming was able to pull themselves together and bring out a strong laning phase as well as strong teamfighting. This resulted in KMT crushing under the pressure and losing the early gold advantage they were accustomed with. SK proved their new roster was strong and well, but KMT showed an LCS level of skill early on, falling off as the game went on.
